Marianne Mickley Miller is a plein air and studio oil painter based in Howard, Ohio. With a background in illustration and a heart rooted in the natural world, her work celebrates the quiet beauty of God’s creation—from Midwestern farmland to coastal cliffs and misty Scottish hillsides.

Painting en plein air allows Marianne to capture the light, atmosphere, and energy of a moment with immediacy and reverence. Each brushstroke reflects her deep sense of wonder and gratitude—what she describes as being “baptized in joy” when she paints. Her goal is to offer viewers not only beauty, but a glimpse of divine grace and love through the landscape.

Marianne is a signature member of the American Impressionist Society and a member of the Ohio Plein Air Society, with awards including the Marjorie L. Bradley Memorial Award (AIS National Exhibit, 2017) and Best of Show (Ohio Plein Air Society, 2017) and more recently, Honorable Mention (AIS National Exhibit 2023)  Award of Excellence (AIS National Small Works Exhibit, 2025). Her paintings have appeared in Outdoor Painter and been exhibited nationwide.
